The list of his nicknames throughout the years are many, and they are all related to all the abilities he has shown during his long and successful career. My favorite is the one that the « Gazzetta dello Sport » gave him in his Juventus days, the quarterback.
In the dictionary, the definition of the quarterback in American football suits him more than anything else : « A player stationed behind the centre who directs a team’s offensive play. He can use the ball to play with passes for which he is responsible or give running opportunities to his running backs. The quarterback also touches the ball on almost every offensive play, and is almost always the offensive player that throws forward passes. » Crystal clear.

He is for sure a « nobody-can-hate-me » type of players (alongside Kakà, Puyol, Modric etc…) due to his very cool attitude on and off the pitch.
I remember him saying that the day before the World Cup final against France in 2006, he spent the day playing video games because that was one of his favorite activities… Like.. Really ?
I chose this free kick against Napoli because I find beautiful, but in fact, really, everyone of his free kicks is a masterpiece and could have end up here.
